It was recently reported in the Palm Springs Desert Sun that a pregnant California vineyard worker and her nine children evicted after being out of work due to freezing temperatures in the region. This was despite the fact that Governor Schwarzenegger had declared a State of Emergency for the area.
The tragedy of this story is that this eviction took place after she missed a single, as in one, rent payment of $265. I feel that being evicted after missing just a single payment is absolutely ridiculous and I can sympathize for this woman and her children as much as the next person, however after nine children and the tenth on the way, maybe it's time she quit having babies.
